I moved up the beach about 100 yards to start my second painting of the day. It's nice when you have so many subjects to paint.

Although you do not see it here, I really nailed the initial sketch. I was as warmed up as I could be. I had about a fifteen minute break before I started the second painting.

Whenever I am painting, I look for opportunities to use the terrain to make my painting process more efficient. Here the boulders made great tables for my pastels. The easy access to my palette sped everything up. It was about quick and correct decisions for this painting.
