Out of The Wind

This is where the painting was at just before the application of the highlights.  The development of the path and the grass at the edge of the path becomes the focal point because of the contrast between the dark of the grass and the light on the path.

The detail of the grass against the path required a different drawing process.  In drawing the grass against the light of the path I had to work at carving the negative space between the blades of grass and the additive process of drawing the blades of grass.

At the end all of the best color was added last.
