Painting at Pelican Point

 I continued laying in the contour of the rocks in middle values carrying them into the rocks in the water.  I worked at getting the detail of the water balanced with the shape of the waves and the color of the water.



 

By the time I put in the highlights onto the painting the lighting had changed and I was chasing the painting.

As all the thoughts about what I wanted to do with the painting I never stopped painting.  I just kept trying to figure out how to solve the problems my painting presented until I got to the point where I knew I was done.
