This painting was done with only paint knives. This is part of a challenge I set for myself back in December. To paint 100 oil paintings on paper with no medium and only paint knives. The purpose was to grow my oil painting skills and to learn how to paint with paint knives which I bought a couple of years ago. This painting measures 22x30 inches.
Sunset Cliffs 22x30 oil on paper. This painting was a finalist for the LPAPA "Love of the Sea" a tribute to Frank Cuprien a founding member of the Laguna Art Club. It was very exciting to be selected for this show because of the competition to be selected. "Heisler Sunset was selected as a semifinalist. There were a total of 325 entries with a selection of 32 for the show in the gallery and an additional 28 semi finalists that were in the online show.Me and my painting...The judges for the show were the Director of the Laguna Art Museum Julie Perlin Lee, President of LPAPA Toni Kellenberg, and master impressionist Michael Situ.
