Torrey Pines III

This pastel painting is done on velour paper with soft pastels and measures 19.75"x25". The sun was just starting to burn off the morning fog. The tree line in the distance is the Torrey Pines golf course.

Laguna

This pastel painting is done on velour paper and measures 19.75"x25" with soft pastels. This location is just north of Hiesler park in the center of Laguna Beach. You can see Dana Point in the distance.

Waves I

This pastel painting is done on velour paper with soft pastels and measures 19"x25". The sun was highlighting the tops of the waves as the sun got closer to the horizon.

Palm Canyon

This pastel painting is done on velour paper with soft pastels and measures 19"x25". Palm Canyon is the largest palm oasis in the world. It is an indian reservation by Palm Springs. Water flows up from the ground in a number of areas and forms a stream that starts out of the sand and ends the same way.

Grand Canyon

This pastel is painted on velour board with soft pastels and measures 24"x16". The rim was in shadow producing more subtle effects.

Torrey Pines Cliffs II

This pastel painting is done on velour paper with soft pastels and measures 19"x25". I really liked the flattened out features of the cliffs in the afternoon. I will revisit this area at twilight to paint the drama of the cliffs.
