Compositional Challenges of Working Small

This painting was challenging because of all the different elements I was trying to incorporate into the painting.  The foreground drops off steeply into the valley.  The hill to the right was dark in shadow but the distance demanded some kind of atmospheric perspective.  The oaks running into the valley were dark but faded somewhat into the distance.
