This pastel with a watercolor underpainting had been lying around the studio for quite a while. I did not know what it needed.
When a painting hangs around unfinished it is because I don't know what to do with the painting, or I do not have the skill to finish some element of the painting.
At this point, I just wanted to be done with it. I worked from memory of that day a couple of years ago and finished. It was pretty liberating to paint without worrying about it was or what it was going to be. I finished it in about a half an hour. You can't let your shortcomings stop you from trying to finish.
