Through the Wash

 

At this point in the painting it was time to finalize the details of all of the elements in the composition.  Although I was not really satisfied with the feeling of the colors, there was no time left to fight with the painting.  The outcome had to be realized.

From the beginning, the color key was not established with the conviction or pervasiveness needed to push the feeling to match my feelings about the composition.  Even though the painting was a fight from the start, there were moments where it did all come together.I was happy the last significant touches added to the painting -the sycamores in the sun on the left.
